Sprouts in the City Episode 1

I started my urban garden three years ago when I moved to an apartment with a large terrace. I knew I wanted to have plants outside but I was really inspired to start growing my own food after learning about the constant violence in the food system, from low wage laborers to the environmental costs but even besides all that, as a cook I wanted better, healthier and more delicious food. Luckily, I grew up on what most New Yorkers would consider a farm, but what we country people call and Acreage. We had some land, horses, hay, and a huge vegetable garden, but we didn’t farm for a living. Growing up I learned how to cultivate veggies, so it came to me easily once I got started. There have been some ups and down but now I am ready to share my lessons with you! Join me on my urban gardening adventure!
